Big Island Tents was founded in Waimea, on the island of Hawaii, in 1990 by Bob Simms who realized that as the island grew in population and commerce, the need for an event services organization was crucial. Starting out as a family business with two small tops, Big Island Tents has increased its inventory steadily with sizes ranging from ten-by- ten canopies to sixty-foot-wide New Century tents in every ten-foot increment imaginable. Featuring quality white and clear tops, Big Island Tents specializes in corporate events for large crowds, weddings for all budgets, and caters to parties for fifty people or less — always delivering personalized service and helpful planning advice — islandwide. From the top of Mauna Kea to the valleys of the north coast, from the lava fields of Puna to the “southernmost tip of the United States” (South Point), Big Island Tents has your party covered.
